    I Melanie Colletta of Hallelujah Tree am the data-controller of your personal information as it relates to my shop.

    When you place an order from me, I will receive your name, delivery address and email address from Etsy. I will only use these details to process and deliver your order, or deal with any queries you have related to that order.

    The only circumstances in which I will share your data are in processing your order or complying with the law. I will never use or pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes or any other purpose, other than the circumstances listed below, I do not have mailing lists. The circumstances in which I may share your data are:
    • With Etsy to comply with my obligations.
    • With delivery companies to fulfil your order.
    • To comply with legal or tax obligations.

    I will retain your details for as long as necessary in order to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. I retain personal data related to orders or customer queries for 7 years. After this time I will delete your data from my records.
    In the case of custom orders I will retain your records as long as Hallelujah Tree is in business because I offer you the chance to contact me in future years to have additional names added to your family tree and have your tree reprinted or an updated JPEG sent.
    If you explicitly ask me to dispose of your details after 7 years I will comply with your request.

    I have no access to your payment account details as PayPal or Etsy Payments processes your order, depending on the method you choose. Your information will be stored on the Etsy system as long as I have my store on Etsy or until Etsy deletes it. I will not spam you or solicit you using the information provided to me.

    You have the right to know what personal data I hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed or deleted. You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you believe there is a problem with the way I handle your data.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How do I send you my family names?

    You can either list names on your order, send me a separate note via the website or, if you have a file or photograph which you would like to email then please send to mel@hallelujahtree.uk . If you have your family research on a site such as ancestry.com then you have the option of making me a guest on your tree so that I can access the information directly to save you re-inputting. Alternatively you could send a GEDCOM file.

    If I am in a hurry can you send my customised family tree to me for me to print off myself?

    Yes, there are shop sections for digital copies of artworks which I'd email to you. I'd recommend using a photo printing service to print your jpg rather than an office printer which would not provide such a good quality print.

    What if I want to add new family members to my tree?

    Families do change very quickly I have found! Engagements, new babies and suddenly your tree is not quite up to date. I would normally only ask that you cover the price of materials and postage of the updated print unless of course the alterations were more significant than just adding one or two names. Just get in touch to discuss. Thank you!

    Do I see a proof before you print?

    Yes, you will see as many proofs as necessary throughout the design process! I'll send a first rough proof as a starting point after adding your names to the tree and then we'll work through as many further proofs as necessary until you give me the final OK to print/send.

    Framing

    I source frames from a local manufacturer in the UK which are made from sustainable wood sources. Although there are cheaper frames on the market I will only supply good quality frames which I feel do justice to the thought that has gone into the artwork to be displayed.

    My frames are for artwork up to 10x12" in size. Due to the high postage costs for anything larger I recommend customers source their own frame if they require a larger print.

    Just to assure you that I have purchased copyright to allow me to use the Zapfino fonts seen in most of my images.

    Right to Cancel:

    The customer may cancel for any reason from order until the end of 14 calendar days after the day of delivery to customer.
    You must send your cancellation notice before the cancellation period has expired, by post, email or via Etsy Conversations. I would prefer you to use Etsy Conversations for all Etsy orders so that records of communications are available to Etsy's administration. You may use the Cancellation Form provided but it is not essential.

    For cancellations I will refund the order value (including shipping of the item to customer), within 14 days of cancellation where goods have not yet been despatched, within 14 days of us receiving returned goods, or 14 days of giving us evidence of sending back. Refunds will be made using the original payment method. The customer is chargeable, up to original order value, for goods that are not received back or are returned damaged.

    If goods are cancelled after despatch to customer please refuse delivery and the delivery service will return to sender.

    Cancelled goods that have been delivered to the customer must be sent back within 14 days of cancellation. Please return goods in a resaleable condition ie. original packaging and clean.

    Returns of cancelled items are to be arranged by the customer and are at customer cost. Returns are at customer risk and customers are recommended to ensure adequate packing and insurance for loss or damage in transit. A service with proof of posting and proof of delivery should be used.

    Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
    Custom or personalised orders
    Digital downloads or e-mailed files.

    For international returns from outside the UK please mark the parcel "RETURNED GOODS". You will need to attach a completed CN22 or CN23 form . We cannot refund import duties or taxes paid by you for receipt of the goods into your country, you will need to do that yourself, please keep copies of all paperwork and proof of posting of returned goods to support your application for refunds of import duties and taxes.
